Gazey Architects were commissioned to undertake this 300sqm two-storey, detached new-build residential development in Nantwich, Cheshire.

The brief was to provide a contemporary three-bedroom property that contained a full-sized snooker room, a double garage, multiple office spaces and open plan living accommodation.

The scheme design contains two separate volumes, linked by a glass link circulation ‘spine’, as a response to both the brief and surrounding context.

It was necessary to create a double height living accommodation and introduce large areas of glazing to provide the internal areas with natural light, while also strengthening the relationship between the house and the garden.

The introduction of openable rooflights within the new roof structure will also increase the daylight within the first floor bedroom spaces.
